REQUIREMENT 1

Collaborate with the CIO and senior leaders to align the IM division's strategy with AIMCo's overall direction, influencing business plans and objectives, and implementing monitoring processes to achieve them.

Relevant Experience

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and deliver effective change for BCI and WSIB (Finance division and large asset management projects) aligned to overall corporate direction.

  • Experienced in the asset management industry and clients with long-dated liabilities so I can “hit the ground running”.

Initial Approach

  • Read all relevant materials (strategy documents, CIO presentations, asset class presentations, Board and Client presentations) and meet with IM staff at various levels and other divisions impacting IM’s success.

  • Summarize and play back information to the CIO to ensure situational understanding.

  • Develop key performance indicators and benefit realization logs to track and measure IM strategy effectiveness.

  • Is the IM Division’s strategy a work in progress or is it locked down?

  • How does the IM Division strategy differ from say one year ago?

  • Does AIMCo use some type of pacing model for target asset mixes?

  • Are targets (rough or refined) used for internal/external management mix, domestic/international asset mix, and public/private asset mix?
